Arbitration and Conciliation Act This Act was designed to provide a legal framework for the fair and efficient resolution of commercial disputes by arbitration and conciliation. The Act recognizes international commercial arbitrations (http://www.nigeria-law.org/Foreign%20 Company and Allied Matters Act 1990 (CAMA) The Corporate Affairs Commission established the Company and Allied Matters Act to govern the incorporation of businesses and synthesize company registration procedures (www.nigeria-law.org). Copyright Act The Copyright Act is designed to protect the writer or artist from the unlawful copying of a work. It defines and protects copyright and penalties for infringing on copyright (www.nigeria-law.org/CopyrightAct.htm). Foreign Exchange (Monitoring and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act No. 17 The Foreign Exchange Act established an autonomous foreign exchange market and outlines monitoring of transactions conducted in the market (www.nigeria-law.org). Investments and Securities Act No 45 This Act regulates investments and securities business in Nigeria. The Security and Exchange Commission is responsible for enforcement. Labor Law This law provides general provisions to protect wages, contracts of employment, and terms and conditions of employment. It regulates all employer-employee relations in Nigeria (www.nigeria-law.org). Nigeria Free Zone Act Nigeria Free Zone Act established The Nigeria Export Processing Zone Authority (NEPZA), which is responsible for the regulation of free zone operations. Its tasks involve policy formulation, licensing, monitoring, investment facilitation, and promotion in the free zones. NEPZA exercises authority over Export Processing Zones (EPZs), Border Free Zones (BFZs), Free Trade Zones (FTZs), Export Processing Factories (EPFs) or Free Sub-Zones (FSZs) and Export Processing Farms (EPFs). Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission Act No.16 NIPC was established in 1995 to better coordinate, monitor, encourage, and assist with establishing and operating enterprises in Nigeria. This Act guides the Commission to initiate and support measures to enhance the investment climate in Nigeria (www.nigeria-law.org). Trademarks Act This Act provides a distinctive sign or indicator to identify the products or services to consumers and distinguish products or services from those of other entities (www.nigeria-law.org).
