All foreigners visiting Nigeria must apply for a visitor visa, work or residency permit at a Nigerian Embassy or Consulate nearest to country of citizenship. The following paperwork is necessary for a visitor visa application:

  • International passport valid for at least 6 months prior to visa application
  • Payment of non-refundable visa application fee
  • Completed visa application form
  • Letter of Invitation from host (with full address) accepting financial responsibility while in Nigeria or proof of sufficient funds
  • 4 passport size photographs (4x4cm colored)
  • International certificate of vaccinations (Yellow Health Card)

Work Permits

The following paperwork is necessary if applying for a work permit:

  • Fulfillment of requirements above and completed work permit form
  • 4 passport size photographs (4x4 cm colored)
  • Offer of employment letter and evidence of acceptance
  • 4 copies of the approved expatriate quota from the Ministry of Internal Affairs
  • 4 copies of candidate’s credentials / certificates and resume

Residency Permits

The following paperwork is necessary if applying for a residence permit:

  • Must have all of the above and submit Combined Expatriate Residence Permit and Aliens Card (CERPAC) to the Nigerian Immigration

Currency, Credit Cards, ATMs
