2. Case Studies Peugeot Automobile Nigeria (www.peugeotnigeria.com) Experience in Kaduna Peugeot’s assembly plant in Kaduna was established in 1975. Peugeot’s efforts in Kaduna are largely marketing, distribution, and sales of spare parts and Peugeot motor vehicles. The plant manager expressed Kaduna’s role in Peugeot’s successful establishment and growth, saying, “Kaduna is a well-functioning city. Investors can do business here because of the good road networks, low traffic congestion, and skilled and unskilled manpower sourced from schools. NOCACO production in Kaduna began in 1980 to supply vehicle plants with locally-made cable harnesses and meet the growing demand for electric cables and wires. The company's equity shares are distributed between Nigerian shareholders and foreign partners (40 percent and 60 percent respectively). NOCACO is the only manufacturer of complete assembled harnesses for the automobile industry in the country.
